Do you really believe it’s possible to lose weight quickly with minimum effort? This is the common fantasy for overweight people. Most of us who enjoy the abundance of the Western world buy into it.
This whole idea is encouraged by the words “get as much (money, career, marriage, material goods) as you can,” and “invest as little (time, thought, resources) as possible.”
Isn’t this the dream? Being able to change “here and now,” ideally while we are asleep. We want to go to bed overweight and “wake up” thin!
Well, this is the whole idea behind “dieting.” Diets are all about “here and now with a minimum amount of effort.”
Are you thinking, “How can a diet be EASY? It’s painful!” Yes, the hunger we all experience while dieting IS painful. But that’s the ONLY pain.
In fact, the ONLY thing you have to do is something you DON’T do: eat. The diet or the pills or the products “do the work for you.” Even if it’s a dangerous diet, the only thing that is required is a NEGATIVE: don’t eat.
In fact, dieting is 100% NEGATIVE:
- IGNORE your body’s hunger
- AVOID most appealing foods
- SUPPRESS your desires
- DEPEND on outside “rules” about what you should and shouldn’t eat
- FEEL BAD if you DISOBEY the rules
This is why you suffer from mood swings when your weight loss is too low or calorie count too high. Going on a diet is immersing yourself in negatives without ever THINKING about what you are doing or UNDERSTANDING your real needs!
I know from experience that if you want to lose weight permanently, you must internalize a new way of thinking and acting. In other words, you must experience a REAL CHANGE inside of yourself. If you don’t, you will be on some type of diet FOREVER.
And who wants to diet forever? I don’t, and I am certain you don’t, either. Not when there is an alternative that is far less painful than constant hunger.
Winning Overeating is that alternative. Throughout this blog I talk about various aspects of it, and I hope you’ll explore them.
But please remember: Winning Overeating is NOT about “instant weight loss while you sleep.” It’s NOT about dieting, deprivation, starvation, counting calories, ignoring your hunger.
It’s about growing, changing, and liberating yourself internally – so you can lose weight while enjoying the abundance around you and without starving!
